Copyright Infringement

Search engine optimization is content driven. Having fresh and original content put onto your website frequently is a sure way of getting a high ranking on search engines. However, while you are including original content on your site, other website owners may engage in black-hat SEO to steal content on the Internet to use as their own rather than creating their own original content. So even though you may be the victim of this copyright infringement, your search engine ranking could be negatively affected.

Content scraping is a form of copyright infringement in which content is taken from a website to be reused on another site with minimal changes. This is most often used by spammers on the Internet.

There are two options to prevent copyright infringement, but it will either cost money or time. One method is to set aside some time each week to check whether anyone have stolen your content. Simply copy and paste an unique phrase from your content to search on a search engine to check for duplicate content from other websites. Alternatively, there are services available on the Internet which will periodically scan the Internet for duplicate content from your site for an affordablefee, usually only about $5 per year.
